Dear Terry, I want to express my appreciation
for your quick service and your wonderful craftsmanship on the
lures I bought from you. I found the lures were not only
remarkable in color but found them to be priced very competitive
in fact better than anything I have seen yet anywhere. You can
count on my coming back to you time and time again for your speedy
delivery, your customer relations, your prices, and your amazing handiwork
is beyond compare. Once again, I praise your work and I give
you thanks.

These are some of the most quality lures I've ever
seen, much less have enough money to afford them. With Terry
Clark's lures, you won't only be very impressed by the
craftsmanship, but also by the price.
With the Rat-L-Traps I sent him I asked for
a paint color that I can't find in stores anywhere.(bottom
right in photo) These traps were really tore up, bite marks that completely
took off the paint and dented the lures' sides in. Terry
not only gave me the paint job I asked for, but he
sanded away the bites and dents and whatever else that
might hinder the bait's performance.
I purchased a couple of his wooden
crankbaits also. These wooden cranks are simply amazing, sanded
smooth as plastic and paint jobs that makes the bass's
eyes pop out while they inhale it. These baits have artistic
value that are not found in many other baits these days,
so you better jump on it while you can.

A few months ago one of our forum
members posted that he would like to paint/repair our old baits so
he could make some money for our upcoming trip to Lake Murray. Not only
did he show good faith in saying that you don't have to pay until he does
the work, he stated that we should only pay him what we feel he deserves
for his craft.
This hit me because there are not too many people
like that out there anymore. In this "money talks, BS walks" world
of ours, I was impressed with his attitude, he just wants to make
money to go fishing! He has had huge health issues and money got
tight, but this comes from me, Terry has NEVER complained about his
financial status to me, his upbeat attitude towards life is something
we all should be lucky to have, no whining or crying about the hand
he was dealt, just how to over come the situation and get on with life.
I saw this and immediately knew that I could
send him some stuff that I use to live by, but have been using different
lures since then, a win, win, situation. I sent my lures off with
a check that I think was fair and if he messed them up, not too big
a loss, they were old baits. When I got them back I was in shock! Not
only did he match the color I asked of him, an almost impossible chore,
the quality of his work was that of a pro. The finish is better than any
lure I own. He fixed up where some toothy critters mauled the baits.
When I tell you they look like those big money Japanese baits, I am
not exaggerating, they are just that good.
These old Smithwick Rogues are once again going
to be my "go to" baits this season! I can't wait to try them. I
always threw this one color, a little off the beaten path. If I
remember it was color 026 in the old BP catalogs, baby bass. They produced
very well for me in the past, they just got so beat up and I started
throwing other baits that I just put them in my "dead" box, old lures
that I really don't use anymore. That is not the case now, I can't wait
to see how these produce!
When the first tournament finally gets here
I will have tied on my Lucky Craft pointer, the new swim bait we
already talked about, Lucky Craft Bevy Shad, A favorite YO-ZURI, and
my old NEW Baby Bass Rogue! Those rogues found their way to the almost
done with pile but now I am looking forward to using them again. Thanks
so much Terry for the way you conduct business and for the professional
job you did on my "useless" baits. You have my business whenever I need
any type of baits painted or fixed up. Keep up the great work, with your
talent I am sure we will see you at Lake Murray, your craftsmanship is just
too good for you not to be noticed and not to make money! Good Luck my
friend!

I am completely blown away!
The Rootbeer finish is just awsome! Morlok really liked the Citrus Shad colors....TOUGH! They're mine! All mine.... I let him have a business card.....
The White/Blue Back/Red Chin......FLAWLESS! Perfect....
As for the topwaters: You knew I would love the tailspinner. As far as your idea on the Popper......AWSOME IDEA! Adds an element of realism I never considered!
My wife wanted to send her appreciation of your handiwork too! She took one look at them and said, "You couldn't buy that at Bass Pro!" You know what? She's right!
Ok, getting to the "grits".....I think I like our little "innovation". I did the "head dunk" in the bathtub and compared it to the sound of Bandits, Rebels, Normans, Strike Kings, Poe's, Warts, etc....it's like nothing else out there! I can't use the term "subtle" when describing the difference.....it is a COMPLETELY different vibe....going to be interesting finding out what the fish think! If the original "forefather" of these is any indication of what I expect these to do....I believe you have about as original an idea as I have seen in these baits in a long time. Lemme get some "field testing" done on my trip back to Pickwick on the 31st. Supposed to be a night tournament and my partner know for his prowess over there says it's gonna be a crankbait type of bite....until then....my lips are sealed. It seems contrary to say our "modification" "stands out", so I will say it "stands apart" from the rest....
These are worth every penny! As I undoubtedly will eventually, almost positively, (boy, like the adverbs?) lose these in time, I'll be putting some "replacement" orders in! You got me hooked....
From the bottom of my scheming heart: Thanks dude!

OK, ok....I'll give ya'll a critique of what I know about these baits:
1st. Diving lips - The lips are joined well without a heavy glue seam. Both sides are very symmetrical and the lip has some "meat" to it that makes it both durable and easily filed and tuned to run a lil' deeper, etc.
2nd. The line tie the split ring is on has some "exposure" that helps to tune the bait's action true. I don't like baits with a line tie with barely enough room for the split ring to wiggle....I like a little more exposure to make it easier to make those minor adjustments.
3rd. Solid feel. The baits just have that "buttery" feel to the touch and seem a little more solid when you shake the rattles. Some off the shelf baits seem to have glue voids or something....I don't know what it is....but you can tell the difference when comparing them side by side..... I hate thermoform bubble packs....you can't hold the bait and get this feel without tearing open the pack.
4th. Finish....Awsome attention to detail. Nuff said....
5th. Body Seams - just like the diving lip, you can tell that great attention was given to joining the body halves and filing whatever seam was present during assembly.
6th. Hooks - OUCH! Terry, you weren't kidding! Excellent quality hooks provided.
7th. Weight - These particular body styles we collaborated on seem a little heavier than an equivalent "name brand" lure. Probably contributes to that "solid" feel of the bait I mentioned earlier. They ought to cast like an Apollo rocket!
8th. Insight - There's just something special about having a little input into how your bait is crafted. "Crafted" - good word! The guy really pulls out the stops to accomodate requests.
I'm sure there's more I haven't discovered about these little gems yet. The ultimate test will come when it is most important....FISHING them! We sort of took a "wild hair" precedent that was VERY SUCCESSFUL in the past and put some polish on it and honestly resurrected a better version of the original!
My crankbait shoppin' just took a turn for something....different.
What else would you expect a guy like me to do?!?

Terry, Talk about good lures!
I went to the lake today and started to fish about 7:00 am there
were two float tubers there in addition to me and the water was like
tea with cream. not really good for fishing. these guys were throwing
everything from top waters to bottom bouncers with no results. I was
having the same luck and then
decided to give the pikie minnow you gave me a try.
Two hits in 6 casts but I missed both (Too busy talking
with the tubers) then I tried the other side of the dock. Wham! solid
hit, real strong, pulled the rod hard. The tubers were starting
to bid on the minnow! By the time I had taken the picture they were
up to $27 for it. I wouldn't trade it in for anything. (A note here from
Terry; See the results Professional Lure Refinishing can have on
YOUR next fishing trip. This was an old Pikie Minnow restored and painted
in Rainbow Trout and now catching California bass.)Well as you can see it was a
post spawn female 18 3/4 inches long and about 4 - 4 & 1/2 lbs. Those
guys admired the paint job and the lure in general, and, wanted to know
where to buy it. I had to break the news to them that it was a custom job
from a friend of mine. and was not available in any store. I will see them
again tomorrow and will be sure to give them you E-Mail addy. OH! they were
skunked and had been there for hours, I fished some more and was headed home
in less than two hours.
Thanks for this terrific bait.
